Expectations for a New Dog Walking Services Client
Before your first walk, we’ll schedule a free 30-minute Meet & Greet. This get to know you, allows us to learn about your dog’s personality, review care instructions, and ensure a great match with your assigned dog walker.
Over the course of this visit, we will:
* Gather detailed information on potty break routines and dog walking preferences
* Review leash equipment, safety needs, and any relevant training or behavioral notes
* Confirm access to your home and answer questions about how our dog walking services work
* Finally, we’ll go over safety policies and ensure all required forms are completed.
Ultimately, our goal is to make every dog walking experience safe, enjoyable, and stress-free, for both you and your dog.
General Guidelines for Dog Walking Services
To ensure safety and quality care, we follow specific guidelines during every walk. Therefore, adhering to these standards helps create a consistent, positive experience for your dog and peace of mind for you.
* Typically, each dog walker handles up to two non-reactive dogs from the same household
* For households with three or more dogs, separate dog walking sessions are required for safety.
*When the ambient temperature outside is greater than 85 degrees we do require you provide dog booties. The concrete can be over 100 degrees and asphalt over 120. When the temperatures rise over 95 degrees walks may be canceled for safety concerns for the dog and the handler. Enrichment time and games can be preformed in the home or outside given the weather.
⚠️ Special Handling Considerations
In reality, some pups need a bit more support, and that’s perfectly okay.
Accordingly, we’ve outlined the following safety protocols:
* Dogs showing signs of leash reactivity or aggression may require solo walks and a $5–$20 handling fee
* Dogs with a bite history or displays of reactive behavior toward people or pets, maybe required to wear a properly fitted muzzle
* In rare cases, if a dog is deemed unsafe by Erin or a member of the team, dog walking services may be declined for safety reasons.
